Shri Ameising Luikham, IAS (retd)
Mr. Ameising Luikham belongs to the 1981 IAS batch of Manipur cadre. He hails from Ukhrul (Hunphun) village in Ukhrul district of Manipur and did his schooling mainly in Manipur and Nagaland. He graduated in history honours and masters in modern history from St. Stephens College, University of Delhi in 1978 and 1980 respectively.
In his career as an Indian Administrative Service Officer spanning 38 years, Mr. Ameising Luikham worked in the field for seven years as Sub-Divisional Officer, Deputy Commissioner, Taxation Commissioner and Director in Transport department and Tribal Welfare department; for 14 years in the Manipur Secretariat in various capacities from Deputy Secretary upto the level of Additional Chief Secretary dealing with personnel and service matters, food distribution, financial management, rural development, tribal development & hills, urban development and developmental planning; and on central deputation in the Government of India for a total period of 16 years as Director in the Department of Public Enterprises, CMD in a central public sector enterprise, Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Minority Affairs, Secretary in the North Eastern Council (Shillong) and Secretary to the Government of India in the Department of Public Enterprises. His last assignment was as Secretary in the Ministry of Minority Affairs, GOI from where he superannuated on 31.12.2018. Assumed charge as Member of Manipur Lokayukta on 19.06.2019.
